Medical van staffed with doctors, nurses comes to town Feb. 17

A medical van providing free eye exams, glasses, H1N1 vaccines and other medical services will stop in San Juan Capistrano on Feb. 17.

Non-profit organizations iHOPE OC and Illumination Foundation are hosting the medical van from 5 to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of the San Juan Capistrano Community Center, 25925 Camino del Avion.

The van will offer nurse consultations, flu vaccines, health insurance and social service applications and referrals for people without medical insurance.

The organizations' primary focus is assisting lower income households and the homeless. The free medical services benefit anyone who cannot otherwise afford such medical attention.
