Park usage is divided into two categories:
#1: Reserved park usage - This includes those who reserve a park through the City with parties of 50 people or more and/or intend on use inflatable devices such as bounce houses. The site is reserved for them via signage and City staff meets the renter at the beginning of the rental to ensure there is no trash in the park, and to check them in. Staff then meets the renter at the end of the rental to be sure the park is left clean.
#2: Drop-in park usage - This includes those who drop in at the various park sites without reserving the site, but are less than 50 persons. This is on a first come, first serve basis.
The most popular parks used by picnickers are Descanso Park, followed by Cook Park/La Novia. HTC Park is the site that hosts City-sponsored events, such as San Juan Summer Nites and the Tree Lighting Ceremony.
Alcoholic beverages of any kind are not permitted in the parks.
