Estate Planning

Private half-hour legal, estate planning and trust services and are offered by Attorney Judith Jamroz at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center on the 1st Tuesday of every other month from 9:00 a.m., to 11:00 a.m. There is no charge for the first consultation.

HICAP – The Health Insurance Counseling And Advocacy Program

HICAP is a volunteer support program that provides assistance with Medicare problems and help with health insurance.  The program provides unbiased information to help you make the best choice for your individual care needs. HICAP does not sell, endorse, or recommend any specific insurance.  This program is held at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center on the last Tuesday of each month from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. , and the second Wednesday of the month from 10:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. The Counselor on Tuesdays, is bi-lingual.  Assistance is free.  Call 493-5911 for an appointment.

April 15Income Tax Assistance For Seniors

Begins in February, every Tuesday through the last Tuesday before April 15.

AARP Driver Safety Program (55 Alive)

Available four times throughout the year, for two consecutive days, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., AARP-trained volunteers conduct an older adult drivers’ training program. Successful completion of this eight- hour course can help reduce auto insurance rates. Registration is $12 for AARP Members & 14 for Non-AARP Members. Payments must be processed in advance with a check made out to AARP. Classes are held at the San Juan Community Center. Call (949) 493-5911 to register or for more info.

Meets every third Thursday at the San Juan Capistrano Community Center from 3:00 P.M. to 4:30 P.M. in the Conference Room

NursePreventative Health Care For The Aging

The registered nurse is available for any senior citizen over 55 years of age.  Services provided are blood test for anemia, blood pressure, urinalysis, blood sugar, vision and hearing screening, counseling on diet, medication and medical problems and health history. Call for an appointment at 493-5921. THIS PROGRAM IS FREE.

The Orange County Office on Aging offers free information on services for older adults. For answers to questions regarding older adult issues such as transportation, housing, health, nutrition, in-home assistance, caregiving and much more call 1-800-510-2020, Monday – Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 pm. You will be connected with trained, caring specialists that will directly link you to your requested services.
