Beginning Monday, November 6, construction will begin within the first of five zones that comprise the City’s Local Streets Pavement Rehabilitation Project. The work will generally occur in the residential neighborhoods located between Ortega Highway and Calle Arroyo, stretching from La Novia Avenue east to Avenida Siega. This also encompasses the Ganado and Belford Terrace communities, situated north of Ortega Highway. This initial phase of the project includes concrete and sidewalk removal, and reconstruction of accessible curb ramps. Construction will occur between 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and work is not scheduled on the weekends. To minimize construction impacts, traffic detour signage will be clearly established for residents’ and “No Parking” signs will be posted 72 hours prior to any construction work. Once this initial work is complete, the re-paving effort on these streets will begin. Pavement rehabilitation work in the other four zones will occur throughout 2024.
